The Mosque

Our Magnificent Mosque in town. It's called the Masjid Kapitan Kling. Our Prime Minister also visted this old mosque and say his prayers here.

Some Being Preserved

I have manage to capture a glimpse of this building. It has been renovated to the original state of course, they had to used their own coporate colour. No matter how this building still looks stunning. This is actually the side view of it. Landscaping is on the way, I can't wait to see the final outcome!

The Palazzo

Well this is a new condominium which is quite costly; but what I am interested is the facade of this building. It is one of its kind in Penang and it strongly suggest the influences from Taiwan. I have seen some apartment / condominium which looks similar somewhere in Taipei. i wonder who the architect is though.

Around town

Been heading to town to do some chores, I find these windows interesting so I took a picture of it. :) The sign post above the gate post is interesting too. The roof top of this particular building has two mini little roosters, I don't know why they are up there though.

Pretty Details

This is the side view of a roof. This building is not a temple but it is a clan temple though. The Chinese honour and remembers their ancestors and fore-fathers here. Found the details near side wall of the roof, and I like the colours and motifs too. It's a pity that I can't show you the details of it though... no zoom lens :(

The Abandon Castle

Found this old mansion along "Sultan Azlan Shah Road".

It was really magnificent, curently it is being renovated to the original state.

From my Balcony

Just back from Taiping town.... another old town in Perak, Malaysia.

As this blog is about Penang DP, I post this view of the "KOMTAR",

Peek-a-boo

Peeping through the door use to be a norm for the ladies inside the house when there's a visitor visiting the house. As women were not allowed to explose themsleves.

The Pinang Peranakan Museum is located at 29 church Street.

Church of Assumption

It's a sunny day! This church has been here for a real long time now.

The Cathedral was first founded in 1786, originally, it was named Church of the Assumption as the Roman Catholic Eurasians from Kedah landed in Penang that year on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption. The present building, erected by Father Manisol, was opened in 1861. In 1955 the church became known as the Cathedral of the Assumption. English services are held at 11am and 6.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays only. At other times, the church is closed off to visitors.

Build in the 1886

I have stumble upon this building which is still standing after all these years. It was built in 1886. It survived the war and changes, magnificently, it is now own by a bank, and will soon be converted into a bank. I love the balconies and the windows, even the drainage pipe shows intricate designs. Well preserved!

This building is located in Beach Street Penang. If you happen to go there early in the morning, you will feel as though you are in Britain, as most of the building there are heavy infuence by the british colonial style, well I do not really know much about architecture but I love the street during early mornings and especially Sunday mornings. It is quiet yet nostalgic.
